Sf's "Pier Party" at Fisherman's Wharf
Get ready to rock, because we’re gearing up to make waves this summer with the highly anticipated return of “Pier Party at the Wharf,” the celebrated concert series that transforms the heart of San Francisco’s iconic Fisherman’s Wharf into a vibrant musical hub.
Almost every Saturday until the end of October will bring a vibrant musical experience to Fisherman’s Wharf, with a lineup of artists featuring 40 musical acts, such as The Unauthorized Rolling Stones as a Rolling Stones cover band, Baycoin Beats, delivering upbeat jazz, soul, and R&B hits, and Jazz Mafia, performing upbeat jazz and funk. Other artists include The Sun Kings, The Fell Swoop, Big Blu Soul Revue, Collectivity, and the Carlos Xavier Salsa Band.
The series will feature a bigger and better stage, a Pier Party bar serving ready-to-drink premium craft cocktails, plenty of bistro-style seating, dancing, and dozens of retailers and restaurants to explore, all against the breathtaking backdrop of the waterfront and the bustling energy of Jefferson Street.
SF's "Chinatown Night Market" 2024 (Every Second Friday)
"Chinatown night markets are back!
Come Friday March 8th 5:30pm- 9:00pm 700, 800, 900 blocks of Grant Ave, and continuing the second Friday of the month throughout the rest of the year.
The Civic Joy Fund is at it again, kicking off a renewed emphasis on street activations in San Francisco. Beginning with the bustling heart of Chinatown, the vibrant spirit of the community will beat once more as @bechinatown , a community-based nonprofit, unveils the revival of its cherished monthly night market.
Featuring a tantalizing array of culinary delights from esteemed vendors like AA Bakery, the Lucky Creation Vegetarian Restaurant, and Dragon Papa Dessert, alongside numerous other merchants, the night market promises a feast for the senses.
Chinatown has a rich tradition of hosting public gatherings, with events like the Mid-Autumn Festival and previous monthly night markets in Portsmouth Square drawing crowds and fostering a sense of community. Lily Lo, the visionary founder of BeChinatown, expresses her hopes for the event, stating, "I really want people to come out to support our small businesses by eating, shopping, and having fun! “
"Acknowledging the vital role of such initiatives in bolstering local businesses, particularly amidst recent tourism challenges, Lo emphasizes, "The majority of retail establishments in Chinatown, notably along Grant Ave, rely heavily on tourism for their prosperity. We are grateful for the support from the Civic Joy Fund in bringing forth this unique BeChinatown night market.""
