You are invited to a webinar, A Call to Action Against AAPI Hate, that will take place on Tuesday, April 27, from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. Merritt College is sponsoring the webinar and President Dr. David M. Johnson has graciously invited the Peralta Community to join us for this special event. The webinar is free and open to everyone.

Please join us to discuss the ongoing racism and violence directed at Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, and what we can do as individuals and community members to stop the hate. This event is organized and moderated by Briana Wing and Freddie Ika, and includes panelists:

  • Russell Jeung, Ph.D., co-founder of "Stop AAPI Hate" and professor of Asian American Studies at San Francisco State University

  • Larry Lariosa, LMFT, psychotherapist, filmmaker of the documentary "Searching for Kapwa" and former mental health counselor at Merritt College

  • Michael Omi, Ph.D., author of "Racial Formation in the United States" and associate professor of Ethnic Studies at University of California, Berkeley
